Have you heard of an Energy Audit? According to the Energy Star web site, an Energy Audit is often the first step in making your home more efficient. This particular site offers a “do it yourself” checklist, and also describes the steps to hire a professional to come to your home and identify areas that need improvement. They not only identify problems, they suggest solutions!

I personally had a professional Energy Audit done recently, and it is by far one of the best recent investments I have made in my home. The Professional Energy Auditor identified several areas of my home that needed improvement to make my house more energy efficient. The fairly simple and inexpensive addition of insulation alone has made a world of difference in the overall temperature in my house.

Take a peek at the Energy Star web site to get acquainted with this money saving home improvement. Then let me know if you have any questions or would like some suggestions as to who to call in your community! Until then, stay warm!
