Happy New Year to you! I just saw an interesting story on the news. They said that electronics were the most popular gift again this holiday season…this much didn’t surprise me. Then they said that it’s very common for people to simply pile up all of their gift boxes and stack them outside for the trash…this too sounded plausible. However, what made me stop and think was when they stated that a home with expensive boxes outside shortly after the holiday season is more likely to be burglarized. Scary! But, they offered some simple steps homeowners should take to avoid being a victim. They said to cut up and flatten all boxes, put them in a garbage container/garbage can, and try not to set that can out for trash until very shortly before pick up. Keep your home and family safe!
